| Jude Miller -- Writer /
Producer / Director |
| |
Judith Ann Miller was born and
raised in Spencer, West Virginia. She
is the daughter of Bill and Barbara Kincaid,
wife of Garlan E. Miller, and mother of a
daughter, Elliot, and a son, Andrew. She is
an alumna of West Virginia University and
has taught school in Roane County for more
than twenty years.
Judy, or Jude, began researching the
story of Mary Draper Ingles in 2002 as a
response to feelings brought on by the 9-11
tragedies. The study of people who exhibited
faith, courage, and perseverance in times of
great adversity was reassuring. She wrote
the screenplay that summer. JTB, Jude's True
Blue Limited Partnership, was established
and Digital Vision Works, LLC. of Dunbar was
brought in for technical expertise in
cinematography, sound, and editing. Filming
of The Captives began in March 2003
and final scenes were completed in May 2004.

Eric Lilly is the artist
responsible for videography and editing for
The Captives. To Eric, the image
gathering device (the camera) is just a tool
to help you tell your story. Whether it is
an Arriflex motion picture camera or a
one-use disposable still camera, it doesn't
matter much to him. He'll ask, "Is the
reality inside the frame telling the story
you want told?" Eric has the skills and
artistic sense to capture the images and
tell a great story.
|
Marc Adams adds his technical and
communication skills to the DVW team and
plays the role of Colonel Patton in The
Captives.
|
Ronn Smith has a Bachelor of
Science Degree in Mass Communications As a
production technician, he brings a wide
range of skills to a project due to his work
in hundreds of film and video productions.
His experience results in quality sound
despite extensive on-location shooting
(often in less than optimal conditions).
Fortunately, Ronn is "Always looking for a
challenge."
